On my gig yesterday, I sang and played live (auto accomp mode), and on Tyros2 of course , the song "Blue Bayou", dedicating it to my family & friends in Louisiana (including our Synthzone Member buds (Don Mason & company) jamming together in Shreveport this weekend). I recorded directly to theTyros2 HD and acknowledge it contains a few glitches (but hey it's live, so what can ya expect), but I believe it demonstrates how Tyros2 sounds in a live performance situation after having tweaked the T2's EQ, effects, compression, and volume settings to deliver a punchier "live" concert sound, vs polished CD studio sound.

To listen, go to my website:
Scott Yee Entertainment
then:
Go to the: "Song Demos" Page.
Scroll down to the: "Rock & Blues" Category.
Go to: "Blue Bayou", then
Click on DSL/Cable (6.33MB) or 56K (1.28MB) version

Thanks in advance to all for listening.

Scott

Donny: It's because I specifically locked it to keep only you & Fran out!
I'z only kidding buds.

Fran & Donny: As with all the other song demos on my website, it's a Windows Media (.wma) file, encoded as VBR (variable bit rate). Because a number of people have already reported they're having no problem downloading & hearing it, I suspect you guys may not have your player(s) setup to accept Windows Media Audio files. Also, which version of Windows Media Player do you have installed on your PC? The current version is: vers. 10. Earlier versions may not perhaps support the more advanced VBR type WMA files.

Ok, Who else is having problems (or is successful), in downloading & hearing my T2 rendition of "Blue Bayou"? Thanks.

Scott

Sorry Donny, but it's gotta be something on YOUR end cause I continue to receive emails from people saying they're experiencing NO problems at all downloading & hearing "Blue Bayou", or any of the other song demos posted on my website. - Scott

Wow,

my real player did something really strange too: it played some strange Celin Dion midi file instead of the song

I don't even own that midi file.........

I think the internet Trolls are out

First Synthzone down for no apparent reason and now this...

However; I cleared the history of my real player and now I can hear it.

Here is my verdict: Scott; your Celin Dion rendition: "not good"
Blue Bayou is a winner.
Clear vocals with great clear harmonizer and the T2 sounds great too.
I enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks for sharing.

Eric

Hi Scott,
very nice rendition of a song I didn't know before. The sound quality is amazingly clear; maybe it's time to try the HD recording route for me too.

Great clear audio as usual from you Scott. I did think your voice sounded different though and not suited to the song. It could be the mic settings you had or the harmoniser in use on the T2? Can't pinpoint it m8 but certainly not as good as the recent songs you've posted
The accordion sounds are fantastic in the T2, just as good if not better than the Ketron SD1's and I thought they were amazing.

Worked for me 1st shot using Windows Media Player 10.

Scott, sounded great! I love the use of instruments and that Cajun accordian solo.

what style did you use and did you customize the OTS / Reg for that song?

Regards,
Al

Sounded very professional Scott.
Definitely a cool nightclub lounge sound.

I too liked the style and the accordion

Did you use the T2 Vocal harmonizer?
If yes...Which setting?
also
The style name please (OTS?)
and the type of accordion you used.

Thanks for sharing, it's appreciated

Hi Scott.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful song. I stayed out for a while but today, reading again the SZ, I saw your topic and enjoy too much your rendition.
Last month I received my Tyros2 and really it´s a fantastic keyboard. Unfortunately, .mp3, .wma, or another type of compressed sound, don´t represent the real capabilities of Tyros2.

Congratulations.
Armando

Many thanks to everybody for taking the time to listen. As I stated earlier, in the middle of my gig last Saturday, I spontaneously decided to play what I thought to be a fitting dedication tune to my Synthzone buds partying in Shreveport, while I was performing perhaps 'at the same time'(?) here on the West Coast, so decided to simply & conveniently turn on the T2 HD recorder to see what happened. Voila!

Craig. Don't sweat it. I've long along realized not to expect anyone to love 'everything' I do. I'm happy that you enjoyed other songs I've done. On the other hand, if you didn't like anything I did, I'd recommended you go listen to the entertainer across the street instead.

Tyros2 Internal Style: Country Pop
Tempo: 100 BPM

Both Style parts & Panel Voices 'tweaked' and stored & called up via Custom Registrations:

1) Drum & Bass Volume increased substantially
2) Reverb efx increased to around 50-60 for all Style & Panel Voice parts except Bass part
3) Super Art Voices: Key Sensitivity (depth & offset increased significantly from default setting

If yes...Which setting?

Yes, I initially selected the "Std Duet" setting, but then optimized (edited) the harmony settings to meet my indiviual taste & voice, and then saved it as my own USER "Duet" Vocal harmony.

I thought you'd know me better than that by now Scott. Out of all your postings there have only been 2 I've not really liked.
Your playing has always been good, but the vocals are quite frankly not up to it on this song. You've always told me to be frank with you so there you go
The entertainer across the street also has a monkey sitting on top m8 lol

Hi Craig, I of course welcome your candid frankness, especially coming from someone I consider a good friend like you. I also realize that you're merely expressing 'your opinion', and it's up to me to decide whether I agree with it or not. I'm not make excuses, but please remember that my recording was made completely on the fly to demonstrate what I sound like on a gig vs studio, and as an impromptu song dedication to SZ Louisiana Jam friends. - Scott

Hey Scott

Finally got a chance to listen to your tunes. Nice job. I especially liked your steel guitar work. I remember in one of our phone conversations your mentioning that the steel guitar was one of your favorites which I can tell just by the way you play it. You sound like you're having fun doing it and it certainly comes across.

Best
